Ricki Lake Shows Off Her Figure in a Red Swimsuit From 17 Years Ago in ‘Then and Now’ Photo

Ricki Lake stunned fans after revealing her major weight loss as a result of a commitment to improving her personal health, and now, she’s showing off her fit figure by pulling out a stunning red swimsuit from 2007 in a then-and-now comparison post.

The Hairspray star shared two new photos on Instagram on Monday, Feb. 26, with one showing the original US Weekly issue for which she wore a bold red one-piece with peplum around the waist for an exclusive interview, while the other was a recent snap of Lake wearing the same suit with black heels.

“Then and now. 2007-2024,” she wrote. “I held onto this #NormaKamali one- piece for all these years wondering if I would ever be able to wear it again. πŸ’ͺπŸ’₯❀️.”

Actress Teresa Palmer wrote, “πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯,” while Kimberly Van Der Beek, the wife of actor James Van Der Beek, commented in support, “I love everything about you always. ❀ so beautiful in both and all the ways. But goodness this must feel great and invigorating!”

Andy Cohen added, “Fantastic!!!!!! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.”

“You look just as fabulous now at 55 as you did on that cover! Absolutely gorgeous and inspirational. ❀️,” wrote an equally supportive fan, as another chimed in, “You. Are. Beautiful & so inspiring!! β™₯️.”

Lake recently opened up about her personal health journey, saying in an emotional update, “On October 26th, 2023 I made a commitment to myself to get healthier. My husband, Ross joined me in this effort. Together we have each lost 30+ lbs…I am so so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong. πŸ’ͺ.”

The actress is married to a lawyer named Ross Burningham, with the two first confirming their romance in December 2020. They then announced their engagement in February 2021, before having their wedding almost a year later, on Jan. 2, 2022.
